Moni Bilé was during the 1980s one the big names in makossa music.
He started in music at the age of 16 in Saker Pop Clan, a school band, where he played on bass.
In 1978, he went to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, to pursue an international career in music.
His music has a distinct style, with relatively more emphasis on the bass and the rhythm section. Absolutely recommended...
Moni Bilé recorded his debut album in 1977 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. Since then, he released several albums
throughout the 1980s, the most successful being « Bijou »,
« O Si Tapa Lambo Lam » and
« Chagrin d'amour » for the TJR label, followed by
four albums for the SAPPA label, being
« Tout ça c'est la vie (1985),
« African Melody » (1986),
« Makossa Ambiance » (1986) and
« Affection » (1988). He continued recording until the first
decade of the current millennium.
